If you want to gift money, don't just stuff a bill into an envelope, instead fold it into a cute little crab...
... or a dolphin. It's called origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. Looks very challenging to me -and you're supposed to only use one bill! 
But if he can do origami, I can do origami.

ReplyDeleteI've done the shirt, the butterfly and a few easy ones. I looked it up on the net the instructions. Fun to do! And it was all about getting a coworker to take money back for buying me a coffee.

ReplyDeleteLast year I received a beautiful box filled with origami supplies. I read the book, but was definitely confused. I need to see if they have one called Origami For Dummies.
But, the box looks real pretty sitting there!

ReplyDeleteAdorable. My son had a small origami obsession when he was little. We wound up with folded cockroaches and dragons and African masks. I still have bags of it:). I think it would be cute in a beach house to line the fireplace with origami sea creatures...

It's like the way they fold your beach towel or t-shirt & leave it on the bed on a cruise shop or at a resort... never made the "origami" connection before, but that's exactly what it is :-)

ReplyDeleteIt's my dad's 85th tomorrow and I'm thinking a crab like this would be more fun than a boring card! I've tried before but am not very adept. My family laughed at my napkin folding attempts, and that was just fan/swan things...
