Red's Eat's in Wiscasset, Maine is a fish shack made famous for it’s lobster rolls and fried fish. And you can tell that the food is good by the long line of people,... in the summer.
Now it's quiet. And that's what I love about the winter.
There's still time to

ha ha! I suppose in a tourist area it IS nice for some peace and quiet :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks nice and relaxing and I bet the snow makes it cozy too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the contrasting photos! I also enjoy comparing photos of the beach that I live on during different times of the year. It's amazing how different the same beach can look!
ReplyDeleteI'd wait in the snow for a lobster roll!
ReplyDeleteSo, you're telling me that if I could get it to snow here, all the tourists would go home? Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. lol
Oh My Goodness!
ReplyDeleteThat was such a shock when I saw the 'oh so adorable' Red's covered in SNOW!!!
My husband would line up from the Northwest to have one of those Lobster Rolls! yum!
What I love about winter...cold weather...so I can wear all of my BODEN coats!
And I adore scarfs!
And I love a cozy fire...and spiced tea.
What I don't like...having to put away my favorite FLIPFLOPS!!!

What I like best about winter is when it's over!! ;-) I like skating & cross country skiing and being cozy in the house when there's a blizzard outside.
ReplyDeleteFun pictures :-)

What do I love about winter? Ah, pretty much NOTHING! If I had my way, it would be warm and sunny ALL the time. It would rain at night so everything got watered, but the sun would shine during the day. People think I'd get tired of that weather all the time, but, no, I think not.
ReplyDeleteI do like the pictures though! Mainly glad I'm not taking the second one!
omg
ReplyDeletei drive past this place all the time with my mom when we are heading south from her home.
this is the sweetest town.
actually it is one the most picturesque places in maine(possibly the country),
particularly at xmas time.

Hi Maya!
ReplyDeleteDelighted you are now following my blog!
Makes me very happppppy! Thank you!
I'm tickled pink to know someone from my favorite place in the world!
Oh...I actually did a post on Switzerland! I will find it and send you a link.
The other night Rick Steve's (the travel guy who ADORES Switzerland) came on PBS with his Christmas special from Switzerland.
I told my husband I couldn't bare to watch it...although I did...out of the corner of one eye! I could barely watch it because I have such a yearnig to be there...and how magical to be there at Christmas.
Where did you live in Switizerland?

We've had a chilly winter that's uncommon for this area, and I'm losing plants. I want it over!

Winter does keep the crowds away!!LOL

Well, this is tough because I think for me, the ease of what is most that I like about warmer weather, no coats, no boots, no driving slow, no snow worries. BUT...when it snows and it clings to the trees its beyond beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty fun to see the difference. We surely don't have that kind of difference around here. While I miss the snow, I surely love to be able to go to the beach every week of the year.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about winter is that I live in Southwest Florida. However, I grew up in Northern Illinois and the one wintery thing I miss is the very first snow each year ... that is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis post just really made me smile today. Love both photos - and come to think of it, I guess I love summer and winter equally!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures together! And that is what I love about living in a beachy town in the winter, too -- there are still the hard cores like us...but not much in the way of tourism. I love the tourists...but the break (and extra parking spots!) is nice, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love about winter...cold weather...so I can wear all of my BODEN coats!
ReplyDeleteAnd I adore scarfs!
