That is so beautiful I'm currently battling powder post beetles on a piece of antique Danish furniture and I might not be upset if the end result of their damage left such carvings. Instead I get sawdust and holes in the wood.
Those pieces are astonishing! It's almost as if they consciously carved distinct patterns. I also like the driftwood I sometimes find with holes bored through them by certain mollusks; those look like wood lace to me.
