Blue Crab

The blue crab immediately caught my eye -and isn't the blue pot a clever touch!

Then I remembered that I had seen this extraordinary species @ Watercolors, painted by the talented Laura Trevey.
Her art is a celebration of color and as she says herself, "coastal living fun"..., you've got to see it.

  14. Great touch of color for the kitchen (and a great watercolor). Love your farm sink - is that a granite or cement countertop? (Sorry, the kitchen designer in me just has to know these things.)

  42. I,too, have a big blue crab that hung high in my last kitchen and (after the paint drys) will soon go up in my current one. Ours is ceramic and hand painted by a local artist. My husband & I found it at a craft festival and the artist told us that all who requested her ceramic crabs in the color blue hail from Maryland. As a DC/Maryland native, I was amused - guess you can't take the Chesapeake Bay outta this girl, even after a couple years of Florida bliss. So, I wondering if that kitchen's owner doesn't have some Maryland connection too?

    Hello,
Blue Crabs can be hard to find. I live in South Carolina and paint large blue crabs on canvas. You can go to www.Heather-Jordan.com and see many original crabs.

  44. Interesting that the sink is in between the windows, rather than under one.

Talking about crabs, I fell in love with a large wooden one recently, only to have the customer in front of me tell the clerk "I'll take the crab!" I'm sure my face fell to the floor.
