Ben Southall's Got the Best Job on Earth

I just learned about Ben Southall yesterday on the Oprah show, and didn't know that he's the guy in the blue T-Shirt checking out This Mermaid from a previous post (see Hufftington Post). Well, Ben Southall got (what is considered) the best job on earth. He was selected from more than 34,000 applicants from around the globe to be the caretaker of the Great Barrier Islands in Queensland, Australia. It's a newly created position designed to help promote the Islands to the world.


His job description: Exploring the islands (like... go hiking, whale watching, diving, kayaking, etc.) and report his adventures online here.
